Our team of senior students Anton, Emma, Cole and Jacob qualified to represent the state of Montana in the Center for Civic Education's We the People National Finals competition this April in Washington D.C. We are the first Stevensville High School team to achieve this honor after 9 years of competing and will now compete against the best teams from across the United States and its territories. We The People is a Constitutional competition based around mock congressional hearings between a panel of "judges" (attorneys, lawyers, district judges) and a panel of "experts" (student competitors). We must prepare 18 four minute essay-style responses, divided into 6 units and 3 questions per unit. During the competition, we will go through all 6 units, where the judges will pick one question from each unit to ask, and after, have a 6 minute period of follow-up questions from the judges.Out of over 30 million students who have participated in this program, we are possibly the second smallest team to compete nationally. The story of our success has received coverage in the Bitterroot Star and Montana Right Now. This competition and our success highlights the importance of Civics Education for all Montana students.Your generous support will help us reach our $22,545 goal for contest registration, travel, and lodging expenses of our students and two coaches.

Thank you for partnering with our students!
